Bitcoin (BTC) Price Statistics

Bitcoin is the first successful internet money based on peer-to-peer technology; whereby no central bank or authority is involved in the transaction and production of Bitcoin. It was created in 2009 by an anonymous individual or group under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.

The source code is publicly available as an open source project. Anybody with an internet connection can verify it and be part of Bitcoin’s development process. Bitcoin is changing the way we see money as we speak. Bitcoin’s idea is to produce a means of exchange, independent of any central authority, that could be transferred electronically in a secure, verifiable and immutable way. Bitcoin makes mobile payments easy, cost-effective, and works anywhere without the need for central authorities and banks.

Being the first successful online cryptography currency, Bitcoin has inspired other alternative currencies such as Litecoin, Ethereum, Monero, and many others.
