Kaspa (KAS) Price Statistics

Kaspa is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency that utilizes the GHOSTDAG protocol, which differs from traditional blockchains by enabling parallel blocks to coexist and be ordered in consensus rather than being orphaned. As a result, the Kaspa blockchain is considered a blockDAG. This implementation of Nakamoto consensus provides secure operation with high block rates, currently averaging one block per second and aiming for up to 10 blocks per second, with a long-term goal of achieving 100 blocks per second. Confirmation times are kept minimal and are primarily influenced by internet latency.

The Kaspa network is secured by miners using Proof of Work, and it employs an algorithm called k-Heavyhash. The Heavyhash algorithm was selected for its forward compatibility with Photonic miners, which are anticipated to become available in the future.
